Vice President Vance clarified that a controversial image posted by President Trump, which likened him to Jesus, was intended as a joke. The image, generated by artificial intelligence, was removed by Trump due to misunderstandings about his humor.

The Religious Liberty Commission held its final scheduled meeting, during which members urged for continued efforts to protect religious freedom. They stressed that threats to religious liberty are persisting and therefore, the work to safeguard this fundamental right must continue.

Pope Leo XIV paid tribute to two Spanish nuns who were murdered in Algeria in 1994. The nuns, members of the Augustinian order, were killed as they were about to enter a Catholic chapel in Algiers. Pope Leo had previously visited their community in 2009, during his tenure as prior of the Order of St. Augustine.

U.S. bishops have appealed to government officials to prevent Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) from detaining pregnant women and nursing mothers. The bishops expressed concerns over reports of miscarriages among detained pregnant women and nursing mothers being separated from their children.

The U.S. State Department has provided an update on its policy of restricting visas for individuals who violate religious freedom. A key adviser from the department confirmed that these restrictions are being enforced as part of the U.S.’s commitment to uphold religious freedom globally.
