Today’s Catholic Reflection

In Philippians, Paul and Timothy share their gratitude and joy for the community in Philippi. They recognize their partnership in spreading the Gospel. Paul believes that God, who began a good work in them, will continue to nurture their growth until Christ returns. He holds the Philippians dear, appreciating their support during his imprisonment and their commitment to faith. Paul prays for their love to deepen and for them to gain wisdom, so they can reflect God's glory.

In the Gospel of Luke, Jesus visits a Pharisee's home and meets a man suffering from dropsy. He questions the Pharisees lawfulness of healing on the Sabbath, but they do not respond. After healing the man, Jesus reminds them that people would help their loved ones or animals in distress, even on the Sabbath. This moment shows the tension between strict law and the compassionate actions that reveal God's mercy.
