Today’s Catholic Reflection

In Philippians, the author shares his thoughts on true worship and confidence. He speaks from a place of deep tradition, having been raised as a Pharisee and circumcised on the eighth day. Despite this strong background, he views his past achievements as losses when compared to knowing Christ Jesus. This reflects a shift from relying on personal success to cherishing a relationship with Christ.

In Luke's Gospel, Jesus engages with tax collectors and sinners, which causes concern among the Pharisees. He responds with parables about a shepherd searching for a lost sheep and a woman looking for a lost coin. Both stories show the joy that comes from finding what was lost. They reveal the celebration in heaven for every sinner who repents, highlighting God's love and mercy as He welcomes those who have wandered back.
