Today’s Catholic Reflection

In Ephesians 4:7-16, Paul speaks to the community gifts Christ gives to each believer. He shares that Christ came down to earth and then ascended to heaven. In doing so, He provided roles like apostles, prophets, and teachers to strengthen the Church. These gifts encourage unity in faith and knowledge, helping believers grow spiritually and stand firm against false teachings. Together, they are called to grow in love and truth, united as one body under Christ.

In Luke 13:1-9, Jesus addresses the idea that suffering is always linked to sin. He mentions the Galileans killed by Pilate and those who died when a tower fell, reminding all to repent to avoid perishing. Jesus tells a parable about a fig tree that has not borne fruit for three years. The gardener asks for more time to care for the tree, hoping it will bear fruit eventually. This parable offers a chance for repentance and growth before judgment comes.
