Today’s Catholic Reflection

In Philippians, the author shares his joy in proclaiming Christ, no matter the reasons others might have. He believes that this joy will lead to his deliverance, supported by the prayers of the community and the Spirit of Jesus. He expresses a deep desire to live for Christ, where life means fruitful work, and death brings closeness to Him. He feels torn between continuing his mission for others and longing to be with Christ. Still, he is confident he will stay to support the community's faith and joy.

The psalmist shares a profound thirst for God, likening it to a deer searching for water. This longing shows a desire to feel God's presence and joy in worship. In the Gospel, Jesus teaches humility during a dinner at a Pharisee's house. He advises guests to choose lower seats to avoid embarrassment. He points out that those who seek honor for themselves will be humbled, while the humble will find honor.
