Today’s Catholic Reflection

In Micah 7:14-20, the speaker asks God to guide and protect His people, who are like a flock in a beautiful land. This passage reflects on God's past actions, leading the Israelites out of Egypt and performing great wonders. It shows God's readiness to forgive and His desire to be merciful instead of angry. The speaker trusts that God will take away guilt and restore faithfulness, honoring the promises made to their ancestors.

Psalm 85 shares similar themes of mercy and restoration. The psalmist calls on God to show kindness and salvation. He remembers God's past favor and asks for the removal of divine anger, seeking the gift of life. The refrain expresses a longing for God's mercy and love, encouraging the community to rejoice in His salvation. In the Gospel of Matthew, Jesus speaks about family, saying that those who do God's will are His true family. This highlights a deep spiritual connection that goes beyond blood relations.
