Today’s Catholic Reflection

Micah speaks of those who plot and act unjustly while hidden away in their homes. They take land and property from others, leaving rightful owners without their inheritance. The Lord warns that a time will come when these wrongdoers will face consequences. They will find themselves powerless and humiliated. People will mourn their losses, realizing that their possessions have been taken and that they have no one to defend them.

The psalmist asks God to remember the poor and oppressed, feeling the weight of God's distance in times of trouble. The wicked exploit the vulnerable, boasting in their greed and ignoring God's justice. Despite the evil around them, the psalmist knows that God sees the suffering and supports those in need. In the Gospel, Jesus steps back from danger as the Pharisees plot against him. He heals many, asking them to keep his identity secret, fulfilling the prophecy of a gentle servant who brings hope and justice to all.
