Today’s Catholic Reflection
On Pentecost, Peter spoke to the crowd in Jerusalem. He urged them to pay attention to his words about Jesus. He described Jesus as a man approved by God, who worked miracles and was crucified by those who did not follow the law. This was part of God's plan. Peter declared that God raised Jesus from the dead, just as the prophet David had foretold. He affirmed that they had witnessed these events and that Jesus, now exalted, had sent the Holy Spirit upon them.
Mary Magdalene and another Mary met the risen Jesus as they left the tomb. They felt both fear and joy. Jesus told them to inform his disciples to go to Galilee. Meanwhile, the guards reported the resurrection to the chief priests. In response, they conspired to create a false story, claiming that Jesus' body had been stolen by his disciples. The soldiers accepted money to support this lie, which spread among the people.
