Today’s Catholic Reflection
In Ephesians, the author encourages the community to live in a way that reflects their calling from God. They are to practice humility, gentleness, patience, and love, while maintaining unity through the Spirit. All believers are part of one body, sharing one faith and one baptism under one God. Each person receives grace in different measures. Christ has appointed leaders to guide and equip the faithful for ministry, fostering deeper unity in faith and knowledge.
In the Gospel of Matthew, Jesus calls Matthew, a tax collector, to follow him. This shows his mission to reach out to those seen as sinners. While dining with Matthew and other tax collectors, Jesus faces criticism from the Pharisees. He replies that healthy people do. This moment reveals Jesus' commitment to offering mercy and bringing hope to those in need of redemption.
