In 1 Corinthians, the author speaks resurrection of the dead. He compares it to a seed that must die to bring forth new life. The body that is raised is different from the one that was buried. It takes on a new, incorruptible form. There is a clear distinction between the earthly body and the heavenly body. Those who have lived in the earthly form will one day reflect the heavenly.
In the Gospel of Luke, Jesus tells a parable about a sower scattering seeds. This story shows how people respond to God's word in different ways. Some seeds are eaten by birds, some wither without roots, and others are choked by distractions. Yet, the seeds that fall on good soil grow and bear fruit. Jesus explains that the seed symbolizes God's word, and those who embrace it with an open heart will see it flourish in their lives. This encourages us to be open to God's message and to nurture our faith.
