Today’s Catholic Reflection
In the first reading from 1 Corinthians, Paul shares insights Spirit of God. This Spirit knows the depths of God and helps believers understand His gifts. Paul contrasts spiritual understanding with worldly wisdom, which often fails to grasp these truths. The spiritually aware can discern all things, while others may see these truths as foolishness. He reminds believers that they possess the mind of Christ, which allows them to understand divine matters.
The responsorial psalm praises the Lord for His justice, mercy, and kindness. It speaks of God's goodness and compassion, inviting all to give thanks and share His glory. The psalm reassures us that God's kingdom lasts forever and that He supports those in need. In the Gospel, Jesus shows His authority in Capernaum by teaching with power and casting out an unclean spirit from a man in the synagogue. The crowd is left amazed at His command over evil, and news of His miracles spreads throughout the region.
