Today’s Catholic Reflection
In Romans, Paul shares that those who follow Christ do not have to live according to their sinful nature. Living by the Spirit brings true life. Being led by the Spirit means being children of God. They receive a spirit of adoption instead of fear. This relationship makes them heirs with Christ, sharing in glory through their struggles.
In the Gospel of Luke, Jesus heals a woman who had been crippled for eighteen years. This healing occurs while he teaches in a synagogue on the Sabbath. The synagogue leader criticizes him for this act. Jesus responds by pointing out the hypocrisy of caring for animals but not for a person in need. His words silence his critics, and the crowd rejoices in the miracle he performed.
