Today’s Catholic Reflection
God's justice is constant. He hears the cries of those who suffer, especially orphans and widows. Those who serve Him with open hearts find that their prayers reach Him. The lowly and brokenhearted feel His comfort as He rescues them from their troubles. The Lord acts swiftly for those who call upon Him.
In the Gospel, Jesus shares a parable about a proud Pharisee and a humble tax collector. The Pharisee boasts of his good deeds, while the tax collector admits his shortcomings and asks for mercy. Jesus teaches that the tax collector, who humbles himself, is justified before God. In contrast, the self-righteous will be brought low. This story highlights the importance of humility and recognizing our need for God's mercy.
