Today’s Catholic Reflection
Ezekiel shares a vision of water flowing from the temple. This water moves eastward, changing salty seas into fresh waters. It brings life to creatures and fills the waters with fish. Trees grow along the riverbanks, offering fruit each month and providing nourishment and healing. This imagery shows the blessings that come from God's presence in the temple.
In the New Testament, Paul tells the Corinthians that they are God's temple. He highlights the need to build on the foundation of Jesus Christ. The Gospel recounts Jesus cleansing the temple, driving out merchants and stating it should not be a marketplace. He calls his body the true temple and speaks of his resurrection. These actions and words reveal the deeper meaning of the temple and its connection to God's presence among his people.
