Today’s Catholic Reflection

Paul arrived in Rome and was placed under house arrest with a soldier guarding him. After three days, he called the Jewish leaders to discuss his situation. He explained that he had done nothing wrong and was imprisoned because of objections from the Jews. He wanted to talk to them hope of Israel, which was the reason for his chains. Paul stayed in his lodgings for two years, welcoming visitors and sharing the message of the Kingdom of God and teaching about Jesus Christ.

In the Gospel, Peter noticed another disciple following Jesus. He asked disciple's fate. Jesus replied that it was not Peter's concern if He wanted that disciple to remain until His return. This led to some misunderstandings among the followers. Jesus clarified that He had not promised the disciple would not die. The disciple who wrote this account affirmed the truth of his testimony, mentioning that many other deeds of Jesus could not all be recorded.
