Today’s Catholic Reflection
In Ezekiel 37:21-28, the Lord speaks of gathering the children of Israel from all nations. He promises to restore them to their homeland and unite them under one leader. The Lord vows to cleanse them of their sins and idolatry. He establishes a lasting covenant of peace. The people will inhabit the land given to their ancestors, and the Lord will dwell among them, affirming His role as their God.
In John 11:45-56, some Jews who saw Jesus' miracles began to believe in Him. Others, however, reported His actions to the Pharisees. The religious leaders worried that Jesus' growing influence could provoke Roman intervention and threaten their nation. Caiaphas, the high priest, suggested it was better for one man to die than for the nation to be lost. He unknowingly prophesied Jesus' sacrificial death for the people. After this, Jesus withdrew to a town near the desert with His disciples as Passover approached, while people wondered if He would attend the feast.
