Today’s Catholic Reflection

In Babylon, there was a wealthy man named Joakim and his devoted wife, Susanna. Two corrupt judges became enamored with her and plotted to accuse her falsely of adultery. One day, while Susanna was in her husband's garden, they confronted her. They threatened to claim she had been with a young man if she rejected their advances. Despite feeling trapped, Susanna chose to stay faithful to God and cried out for help.

As she was led to her execution, a young boy named Daniel stepped in. He challenged the elders' accusations and demanded a fair examination. Daniel separated the two men and questioned them about their claims. When their stories contradicted each other, the assembly saw through their deceit. They condemned the elders to the same punishment they had sought for Susanna, restoring her innocence and bringing justice.
