Today’s Catholic Reflection
In Isaiah 49:8-15, the Lord speaks of a time of favor and salvation. He promises to restore the land and bring hope to those in despair. He reaches out to the prisoners and those in darkness, offering guidance and provision. Even if a mother could forget her child, God assures us He will never forget. This imagery shows the depth of His care and faithfulness.
Psalm 145 echoes this theme of God's kindness and mercy. It reminds us that He is compassionate toward all. The psalmist acknowledges God's faithfulness and His desire to lift up those who struggle. In John 5:17-30, Jesus shares His unity with the Father. He does what He sees the Father doing, emphasizing His power to give life and authority to judge. He promises resurrection for both the righteous and the wicked, affirming His role in God's plan for salvation.
