Today’s Catholic Reflection
In the passage from 1 John, we see a clear love one another. Love is central to knowing God, for it comes from Him. Those who love are born of God, while a lack of love indicates a separation from Him. God is love, and He shows this through the sending of His Son. Jesus came to give life and to atone for our sins.
In the Gospel of Mark, Jesus shows compassion for a large crowd. He begins to teach them as evening draws near. The disciples suggest sending the people away to find food, but Jesus tells them to feed the crowd. With just five loaves and two fish, He blesses the food and distributes it. In this act, He miraculously feeds five thousand men, demonstrating His care and provision for everyone present.
