Today’s Catholic Reflection

In the passage from 1 John, we see that those who act righteously are born of God. This shows the deep love God has for His children. The world may not recognize them because it does not know God. Believers can take comfort in knowing they are God's children now. They will be transformed to be like Him when He is revealed. The text warns against sin, describing it as lawlessness. Jesus came to take away sins, and those who are in Him do not continue to sin.

In the Gospel of John, John the Baptist recognizes Jesus as the Lamb of God. He takes away the sins of the world. John understands his role as one who prepares the way for Jesus, who is greater than him. John shares how he witnessed the Spirit descend upon Jesus, confirming who He is. He testifies that Jesus is the Son of God, affirming His divine mission and authority.
