Today’s Catholic Reflection
King David shows his humility and gratitude to the Lord after Nathan delivers a message. He reflects on his own unworthiness and recognizes the importance of God's promise to establish his lineage and the people of Israel forever. David prays for confirmation of God's word and asks for blessings on his house, hoping it will endure in God's presence.
The psalm speaks of David's dedication to finding a dwelling for the Lord. He remembers his oath and the promise God made about his descendants. It highlights the importance of keeping God's covenant to ensure his lineage continues on the throne. Jesus later teaches his disciples visibility of truth and how understanding can grow for those who are open to receiving.
