Today’s Catholic Reflection
In the first reading from 2 Timothy, Paul shares his deep love for Timothy, whom he views as a cherished child. He remembers Timothy's genuine faith, a gift passed down from his grandmother and mother. Paul encourages him to hold onto the gifts he has received and to remain steadfast in his faith. He reassures Timothy that God offers strength, love, and self-control. Paul asks him.
The Gospel from Mark recounts a moment when scribes accuse Jesus of being possessed by Beelzebul, claiming he casts out demons by the power of the prince of demons. Jesus replies with parables, explaining that a divided kingdom cannot endure. He illustrates the necessity of binding the strong man before entering his house. Jesus warns that while many sins can be forgiven, blasphemy against the Holy Spirit cannot be. This the gravity of their accusations against him.
