Today’s Catholic Reflection

In 1 Kings, the elders of Israel and the leaders of the tribes come together in Jerusalem. They bring the ark of the LORD's covenant to the newly built temple. The priests carry the ark and the sacred vessels. King Solomon and the people offer many sacrifices. When the ark is placed in the holy of holies, a cloud fills the temple, showing that the LORD is present. Solomon acknowledges that he has built a dwelling for God, marking the temple as a sacred space.

The responsorial psalm invites the LORD to ascend to His resting place. It calls for justice among the priests and joy among the faithful, appealing to God for the sake of David. In the Gospel of Mark, Jesus arrives at Gennesaret. People recognize Him and quickly bring their sick for healing. They believe that touching the tassel of His cloak will bring them health. Many experience healing through their faith.
