Today’s Catholic Reflection
Moses spoke to the people, urging them to follow the commandments and statutes given by the Lord. Their commitment would bring them into a special covenant. The Lord would be their God, and they would be His chosen people. If they stayed faithful, they would be lifted above all other nations, becoming sacred to the Lord.
In the Gospel, Jesus taught His disciples to love everyone, including their enemies. He encouraged them to pray for those who persecute them. Loving only those who love us is easy and does not make us stand out. True love reflects the nature of the heavenly Father, who shows kindness to both the good and the bad. Jesus concluded by inviting them to strive for perfection, reflecting the goodness of God.
