Today’s Catholic Reflection

In Leviticus, the LORD speaks to Moses about holiness. He instructs the Israelites on how to live with integrity and justice. They are told not to steal or lie. Fairness and respect for neighbors are essential. Love and compassion are central, with a clear love one's neighbor as oneself.

In the Gospel of Matthew, Jesus speaks of the final judgment. He describes how he will separate people like a shepherd separates sheep from goats. Those on his right are welcomed into the kingdom for their kindness to those in need. They fed the hungry and visited the sick. Those on his left face judgment for neglecting these acts. Jesus identifies with the least among us, showing that how we treat others reflects our relationship with him.
