Today’s Catholic Reflection
In the passage from 1 John, the author talks Word of life that was there from the beginning. This Word became visible and was experienced by those who witnessed it. They share their stories to invite others into fellowship with them, God the Father, and Jesus Christ. Their sharing brings joy to all who believe.
The Gospel of John tells us about Mary Magdalene discovering that Jesus' body is not in the tomb. She runs to tell Peter and another disciple. The other disciple reaches the tomb first, sees the burial cloths, but does not go in. Peter arrives next, enters the tomb, and observes the cloths. Finally, the other disciple enters, sees the evidence, and believes in the resurrection.
