Today’s Catholic Reflection
Hannah brought her son Samuel to the temple in Shiloh. She carried a three-year-old bull, flour, and wine. After sacrificing the bull, she spoke with Eli. She told him she was the woman who had prayed for a child. Hannah thanked the Lord for answering her prayer and dedicated Samuel to serve Him. Then, she left Samuel at the temple.
Mary praised the Lord for the blessings she had received. She expressed her joy and gratitude. She acknowledged God's mercy and power. He lifts up the humble and fills the hungry, while bringing down the proud. Mary reflected on God's faithfulness to Israel and His promise to Abraham's descendants. After three months with Elizabeth, she returned home.
