Today’s Catholic Reflection

In Isaiah, the desert will bloom and fill with joy. God's glory will shine, bringing strength to the weak and comfort to the fearful. The blind will see, the deaf will hear, and the lame will leap. This marks a time of healing and salvation. Those who have been redeemed will return to Zion with joy, leaving sorrow behind.

James encourages patience as believers wait for the Lord. He uses the farmer as an example, who waits for the harvest. He advises against complaining about one another, reminding them that the Judge is near. In the Gospel of Matthew, John the Baptist questions if Jesus is the awaited one. Jesus responds by speaking of the miracles he performs and affirms his identity. He praises John as a great prophet, noting that even the least in the kingdom of heaven is greater.
