Today’s Catholic Reflection
Elijah found shelter in a cave on Mount Horeb. The Lord told him to stand outside. As he waited, he experienced a strong wind that broke rocks, an earthquake, and a fire. But God was not in these powerful events. Instead, He spoke to Elijah in a gentle whisper. Elijah covered his face and approached the cave's entrance.
In the Gospel, after feeding the crowds, Jesus sent his disciples in a boat while he went to pray alone. While on the sea, the disciples encountered a storm and felt fear when they saw Jesus walking on the water. Peter asked to join him, but when he noticed the wind, he began to sink and cried out for help. Jesus reached out to save him and questioned his doubt. Once they were back in the boat, the wind calmed, and the disciples recognized Jesus as the Son of God.
