Today’s Catholic Reflection
In Daniel's vision, the Ancient One takes His throne. He is surrounded by fire and countless attendants. This scene represents a heavenly court where the books are opened. A figure resembling the Son of man approaches and receives everlasting dominion and kingship. This vision shows God's sovereignty and the exalted status of the Son of man.
In the Gospel of Matthew, Jesus takes three disciples up a mountain. There, He is transfigured and reveals His divine glory. Moses and Elijah appear, speaking with Him. This moment signifies the fulfillment of the Law and the Prophets. A voice from a bright cloud declares Jesus as the beloved Son, telling the disciples to listen to Him. Overcome with fear, they find reassurance in Jesus, who tells them to rise and not be afraid. He instructs them to keep the vision to themselves until after His resurrection.
