In Jeremiah 31:1-7, the LORD shows His commitment to the tribes of Israel. He promises to be their God and to restore them. His love and mercy are enduring. The people will be rebuilt and will rejoice again. As they return, they will celebrate with joy, planting vineyards and enjoying their harvest. The passage invites all to rejoice and proclaim the deliverance of Israel's remnant.
The Responsorial Psalm reflects themes of restoration and joy. It speaks of the LORD gathering and protecting His people like a shepherd with his flock. Sorrow will be transformed into joy, as generations come together to celebrate the blessings from the LORD. In Matthew 15:21-28, a Canaanite woman approaches Jesus, seeking help for her troubled daughter. Despite an initial refusal, her persistent faith impresses Jesus, who eventually grants her request and heals her daughter.
