Today’s Catholic Reflection
In Isaiah, the servant faces suffering and rejection. His appearance is marred, and he carries the sorrows and sins of others. Though he is spurned and held in low esteem, he endures quietly. He takes on the guilt of many, leading to healing for those who believe. His suffering plays a significant role in humanity's redemption.
The Gospel of John tells the story of Jesus' crucifixion. Betrayed by Judas, Jesus is arrested and brought before Pilate. Pilate finds no guilt in him but cannot sway the crowd, who demands his crucifixion. Jesus is sentenced to death and crucified with two others. In his final moments, he shows care for his mother and declares fulfillment. After he dies, his body is laid in a new tomb, marking the end of his earthly life and fulfilling Scripture.
