Today’s Catholic Reflection

In Acts 8:1b-8, the Church in Jerusalem faces intense persecution. This leads to the scattering of its members, while the Apostles stay behind. People honor Stephen by giving him a proper burial and mourning his loss. Saul actively seeks to harm the Church, arresting both men and women. Despite this, those who have been scattered continue to share the message of Christ. Philip goes to Samaria, where he preaches and performs miracles, bringing great joy to the people.

In John 6:35-40, Jesus calls himself the bread of life. He assures those who come to him that they will never hunger or thirst. He recognizes their disbelief, even after seeing his miracles. Jesus states that everyone given to him by the Father will come to him, and he will accept them. He speaks of his mission to do the Father's will, which includes raising believers on the last day and offering them eternal life through faith in him.
