Today’s Catholic Reflection

The high priest and the Sadducees were filled with jealousy and imprisoned the Apostles. During the night, an angel freed them and told them to keep preaching in the temple. The next morning, the Apostles obeyed and began teaching. Meanwhile, the high priest and his council were puzzled to find the prison empty. They learned that the Apostles were in the temple, and the captain and officers brought them back gently, fearing the crowd.

The Psalm expresses a deep trust in the Lord. It speaks of His attentiveness to the cries of the poor. The speaker praises God at all times and invites others to glorify His name. The passage from John shares God's love for the world through the gift of His Son, who offers eternal life to believers. It contrasts light and darkness, showing that those who do evil avoid the light, while those who embrace truth reveal their good works as aligned with God.
