Cardinal Mauro Gambetti, the archpriest of St. Peter’s Basilica, presided over an act of reparation following the desecration of the main altar on October 10, 2025. Cardinal Pietro Parolin recently spoke about St. Carlo Acutis, noting that many people have been touched by his smile when they see his photo. The Vatican has suspended seminary formation in the Diocese of Wamba in the Democratic Republic of Congo until further notice. Bishop Sosthène Ayikuli Udjuwa, the apostolic administrator of the Congolese Wamba Diocese, is currently overseeing the diocese. The reasons for the suspension have not been disclosed.

A fire severely damaged the 17th-century Bernaga Monastery outside of Milan in northern Italy this past weekend. The monastery is historically significant as the place where St. Carlo Acutis received his first Communion. The fire forced 21 cloistered nuns to evacuate the premises.
