Today’s Catholic Reflection
In Isaiah, the Lord speaks of justice and righteousness. He promises that salvation is near. He welcomes those who serve Him, including foreigners who uphold His covenant. They will find joy in His presence. His house is a place of prayer for all nations.
In the Gospel of Matthew, a Canaanite woman comes to Jesus, asking for help for her troubled daughter. At first, Jesus does not reply, as His mission is focused on the Israelites. The woman's faith is strong, and it impresses Him. Because of her persistence, her daughter is healed. This moment shows the depth of faith and the openness of God's mercy to everyone.
