In the passage from Ezekiel, the Lord tells the prophet to listen and obey. He contrasts Ezekiel with the rebellious people of Israel. God gives Ezekiel a scroll filled with lamentations and woes. When Ezekiel eats the scroll, he finds it sweet. This symbolizes his acceptance of God's message, and he is then told to share it with the house of Israel.
In the Gospel of Matthew, the disciples ask Jesus who is the greatest in the Kingdom of heaven. Jesus points to a child, showing that humility and a childlike spirit are necessary for entry into the Kingdom. He highlights the worth of each person, especially the vulnerable, noting that their angels are always before God. Jesus tells a parable about a shepherd searching for a lost sheep. This illustrates God's deep care for everyone and His desire that none be lost.
