Today’s Catholic Reflection
In 2 Corinthians 9:6-10, the writer speaks about generosity. Those who give freely will receive in return. Each person should choose how much to give, without feeling pressured. God loves a joyful giver. He promises to meet our needs so we can do good works. God provides both the seed for planting and the bread for eating, increasing the resources for those who share.
Psalm 112 celebrates the generous and just person. Such individuals will be remembered and blessed. Their trust in God helps them face difficulties without fear. Their kindness to the poor lasts, and they will be honored. In John 12:24-26, Jesus teaches that a grain of wheat must die to bear fruit. This shows that giving of oneself can lead to eternal life. Those who serve Jesus will be honored by the Father and will be with Him.
