The Psalm speaks of God's power over life and death. It assures that He will bring justice to His people. God alone can heal and inflict wounds. In the Gospel of Matthew, Jesus teaches His disciples cost of following Him. He encourages them to deny themselves and take up their crosses. Those who try to save their lives will lose them, while those who sacrifice for Him will find true life. Jesus promises to return in glory, where each will be judged according to their actions.
