Today’s Catholic Reflection
Jeremiah receives a message from the LORD and goes to a potter's house. He watches as the potter works with clay, shaping it and sometimes discarding it when it doesn't meet his vision. The LORD uses this scene to describe His relationship with Israel. He shows how He has the authority to mold His people according to His will.
In the Gospel, Jesus shares a lesson with His disciples Kingdom of heaven. He uses the image of a fishing net that gathers all kinds of fish. When the time comes, good fish will be separated from bad, much like fishermen sort their catch. Jesus tells them that those who grasp His teachings are like a householder who brings out both new and old treasures, highlighting the depth of wisdom in His words.
