Today’s Catholic Reflection

The passage starts with Barnabas and Saul returning to Jerusalem after their mission, accompanied by John Mark. In the Church at Antioch, they join a group of prophets and teachers in worship and fasting. The Holy Spirit guides them to set apart Barnabas and Saul for a new mission. After prayer and fasting, the community lays hands on them and sends them off. They journey to Seleucia and Cyprus, sharing the word of God in Jewish synagogues.

In the Gospel, Jesus speaks about belief in Him and the one who sent Him. He identifies Himself as the light of the world. His mission focuses on salvation, not condemnation. He tells us that those who do not follow His words will face judgment. Jesus reassures us that His words come from the Father, leading to eternal life.
