Today’s Catholic Reflection
On the day of Pentecost, Peter spoke to the Jewish people. He declared that Jesus, whom they had crucified, is Lord and Christ. The crowd felt deep remorse and asked what they should do. Peter told them to repent and be baptized in Jesus' name for the forgiveness of their sins. He promised them the gift of the Holy Spirit, urging them to save themselves from their corrupt generation. About three thousand people accepted his message and were baptized that day.
Mary Magdalene stood outside Jesus' tomb, weeping for her lost Lord. She looked inside and saw two angels who asked her why she was crying. When she turned around, she encountered Jesus but did not recognize him at first. He called her by name, and she realized who he was. She called him Teacher and then went to tell the disciples that she had seen the Lord and shared his message with them.
