Today’s Catholic Reflection
In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth. He brought order from chaos. Light was separated from darkness. The sky was formed, and waters were gathered to create dry land. Vegetation, celestial bodies, and living creatures filled the earth. God saw that it was all good. On the sixth day, humanity was created in His image, given dominion over creation and food to sustain them. After His work was complete, God rested on the seventh day and made it holy.
God tested Abraham by asking him to sacrifice his son Isaac. Abraham obeyed and prepared to follow this command. At the last moment, an angel intervened and stopped him, affirming his faithfulness. A ram was provided as a substitute for the sacrifice. Because of Abraham's obedience, God promised to bless him and multiply his descendants. This moment revealed the depth of Abraham's devotion and God's faithfulness to His covenant.
