Today’s Catholic Reflection
In Exodus, the LORD gives Moses and Aaron instructions for the Passover. Each family must choose a one-year-old lamb, perfect and without blemish. They will slaughter the lamb on the evening of the fourteenth day. Its blood will be placed on the doorposts of their homes. This act will protect them from the LORD's judgment, ensuring their safety. This day will be remembered as a feast for generations to come.
In the New Testament, Paul speaks of the Last Supper. Here, Jesus establishes the Eucharist by breaking bread and sharing wine, representing his body and blood. He asks his followers to remember him through this practice. The Gospel of John tells us about Jesus washing the disciples' feet. This act shows humility and the true nature of leadership. Jesus teaches that serving others is paramount and reinforces the commandment to love one another.
