Today’s Catholic Reflection
In Isaiah 50:4-9a, the speaker shares a close bond with God. God gives him the words to comfort those who are tired and weary. Each morning, God opens his ears to listen and guides him. Despite facing hardship and abuse, he remains strong and does not turn away. He trusts in the Lord, knowing he will not be shamed and stands firm against anyone who challenges him.
In Matthew 26:14-25, Judas Iscariot goes to the chief priests. He seeks payment for betraying Jesus, and they agree on thirty pieces of silver. During the Passover meal, Jesus tells his disciples that one of them will betray him. This news troubles them deeply. When Jesus points out that the betrayer is the one sharing the dish with him, Judas asks if it is he. Jesus confirms it, hinting at the betrayal and the suffering to come.
