Today’s Catholic Reflection
In Isaiah, the Lord speaks to the people. He urges them to let go of their wrongdoings and seek justice. He asks them to care for those in need, like orphans and widows. There is hope for redemption, as even the gravest sins can be forgiven. The Lord promises blessings for those who follow His guidance and warns of consequences for those who turn away.
In the Gospel of Matthew, Jesus teaches the crowds scribes and Pharisees. They know the law but do not live by it. He cautions against following their example, as they place heavy burdens on others without offering support. Jesus highlights the importance of humility and service. True greatness comes from serving others. Those who seek honor will find themselves humbled, while those who are humble will be lifted up.
