Today’s Catholic Reflection

Absalom faced David's servants in battle. As he tried to escape, his hair got caught in a tree, leaving him suspended. A soldier saw him and told Joab. Joab killed Absalom with three pikes. David waited for news, feeling hopeful when he saw a messenger coming. When the Cushite arrived and said Absalom was dead, David was heartbroken. His deep mourning affected his troops, who had just celebrated victory.

In the Gospel, Jairus, a synagogue leader, came to Jesus. He begged for help for his dying daughter. As Jesus went with him, a woman who had suffered for years touched his cloak and was healed. Jesus felt her faith and told her to go in peace. When news came that Jairus's daughter had died, Jesus urged him to have faith. When they reached the house, Jesus raised the girl from the dead, leaving everyone in awe.
