Today’s Catholic Reflection
In Isaiah, we hear of a time when God invites everyone to a great feast on a mountain. He will break down the walls that divide us and bring an end to death. God will comfort those who grieve, wiping away their tears and lifting their shame. On that day, people will celebrate their salvation and feel God's presence among them.
In the Gospel of Matthew, Jesus sees a large crowd that has been with him for three days without food. The disciples worry about how to feed so many in such a remote place. Jesus takes seven loaves and a few fish, gives thanks, and shares the food. Everyone eats and is satisfied, with seven baskets of leftovers collected. This shows Jesus cares for our needs and can provide more than enough.
