Today’s Catholic Reflection
Daniel felt deep anguish and fear from his troubling visions. He sought understanding and learned that four great beasts symbolized four kingdoms on earth. The holy ones of the Most High would receive everlasting kingship, despite the oppression from the fourth beast. A powerful horn would challenge them, but in the end, divine judgment would favor the holy ones, granting them eternal dominion.
In the Gospel, Jesus urged his disciples to stay alert and avoid distractions that could lead to spiritual lethargy. He warned that the coming day of reckoning would catch many by surprise. Vigilance and prayer are essential to withstand the tribulations ahead. Being prepared is crucial for maintaining faith and readiness as they await the return of the Son of Man.
