Today’s Catholic Reflection
In Romans, believers find comfort in God's constant support. God did not hesitate to sacrifice His own Son for humanity. This act shows that He will provide everything else needed. No one can bring accusations against those chosen by God, as He is the one who justifies them. Christ stands beside God, interceding for believers. Nothing can sever the bond between them and the love of Christ.
The Psalm reflects a deep plea for God's mercy and rescue. The speaker feels vulnerable and seeks divine assistance amid suffering. They hope others will see God's hand at work in their lives. The response celebrates God's care for the downtrodden. In the Gospel, Jesus acknowledges the threats from Herod but affirms His mission. He laments the city's rejection of prophets and expresses a desire to protect its people, foretelling a time when they will recognize Him as blessed.
